I was gifted this book for an honest review. 5 EMOTIONAL STARS!! The Shortstop is my first A. M. Madden read. I instantly connected to Annie and her loving and loyal personality. I felt her heartache and frustration. This book will definitely suck you in and pull on your emotions. I can see a lot of readers being able to relate to Quint and Annie's situations. If you love a good romance, this is a MUST read for you!!
Quint and Annie have been each other's first at everything. Starting out as friends and continuing to grow into more. Always together, it never crossed either of their minds that they'd ever be apart. They were a team, supporting and leaning on each other. When the communication stops the team falls apart. They'll never weather the storm with cracks in foundation of their relationship. Annie hopes she is enough to make Quint happy, but she soon learns his love for the game is all that matters to him. Quint's self destruction may very well destroy all those closest to him. Is there still hope of a happily ever after for the couple or is the damage too great?
