Protecting HerProtecting Her by Alexis Noelle
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this book as a gift in exchange for an honest review.

Protecting Her is my first book by Alexis Noelle, so I had no idea what to expect before diving in. I will say that I had no problem following the story and it was easy to read, as there were no spelling mistakes or anything distracting like that. I also really enjoy the cover, I could see people buying this book based on that alone.

However, I did not like either character. I have no love for Hunter or Sam. Hunter is an a-hole and a manwhore, but that’s not why I didn’t like him. I just felt as though there was no feelings coming from him. I couldn’t relate to him and didn’t feel as though he really cared for Sam, even though the author portrayed him as loving her…I didn’t see it and more importantly I didn’t feel it. Sam as a female has no back bone and kept sobbing throughout the story. Now, don’t get me wrong, some things that happened to her deserved a little crying. Her mom being an evil witch to her, having a stalker, and having Hunter declare he loves her in one minute and catching him cheating the next, but there’s a point where enough is enough.

Do read the other reviews because there are plenty of readers who enjoyed this story and you might be another one. The author definitely knows how to write and I will check out the other books. Reviewed by Jennifer for MNP
